Is there an official DC cannabis license lookup?

Yes. ABCA's Find a Medical Cannabis Retailer page lists operating retailers, and ABCA's license register is published on DC's GIS service.

Are weed "gifting" shops legal in DC?

No, and they never were. Selling cannabis without an ABCA license is illegal, and ABCA and MPD padlocked unlicensed shops from 2024 on.

What if a store is in one ABCA source but not the other?

ABCA lists retailers once they've been verified as operational, so a license in the register alone doesn't mean the store is open. If a store is on the web list but has no Active license in the register, ask ABCA before relying on it.

How do I report an unlicensed shop?

Use ABCA's online complaint form. You can submit anonymously.
